It is difficult if not downright impossible to get a true reflection from the sound-bites that the media allows through, but this is an effort to capture as much as possible what was shown on the tube.

Kibera homecoming and other stories from the news
This is a speedy run through the day's news, from KTN at 7 o'clock and at 9 pm, and from some of the early papers. The major story of the day was the Prime Minister's homecoming in Kibera.

Sisters at Heart
On Saturday the 24th of February, 2008, I went to a meeting of women in Kibera, Nairobi. It was in the open, in the field next to the Kibera D.O.'s office. Under a tree, next to a dusty soccer pitch on which a few energetic children were playing, sat some women listening to the meeting's moderator, Ms. Jane Anyango.
